About Artist
Marjorie Schwartz is an abstract painter who brings the looseness of watercolor to acrylics and oils. She has studied with Melanie Delgado and Meredith Rosier at the Woodstock School of Art and Cissy Marks at the Instituto Allende in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Schwartz views life as an open, richly creative process and assists others toward this end as a clinical psychologist in private practice. She lives and works in the Catskills and New York City. This is her first solo show.
“Perennial”
That which blooms again, again
impresses on the heart to lend
a secret to the captive eye
whispered into circle sky
Light invites a reckless glee
insisting on periphery
colors splinter, forms unveil
wing-snap of a nightingale
Animated swarming power
spilling forth from every flower
blossoms tremble, petals vibrate
murmurating cosmos migrate
You and I are flowers teeming
bursting in our sunlit gleaming
evanesce for evermore
petals fall, and spirits soar
